The design of the Porta-Jib Explorer has evolved ever since it was introduced. In 2009, the Porta-jib Explorer Version 1 debuted. The updated Explorer, Version 2, was introduced in November 2011. In June 2014 the redesigned Porta-Jib Explorer Version 3 replaced the earlier versions. To find out more about the latest version of the Explorer visit the main Explorer page.

Differences between Version 1 and Version 2.

1) The tripod is a more standard size and configuration.

2) New recommended configuration with the tripod on one end and two monopods the other to create a more rigid support system.

3) The 3-Arm jib configuration was discontinued.

4) Wheel hardnesses in the Explorer dolly wheels made the same. Added a floor-wheel-only option using a standard 5" floor wheel.
